Thank you for considering taking part in the University of Greenwich Transition to Retirement Project. The study is looking at the factors that affect the quality of retirement.

People experience retirement in different ways and at different ages and much has been written about retirement in advice columns and articles in the popular press. However, there is little systematic information that helps us answer a number of fundamental questions such as:
• What motivates different people to retire?
• Does planning for retirement make a difference?
• What determines whether someone feels negative or positive about retirement?
•What percentage of people experience retirement positively or negatively?

The survey consists of approximately 50 questions, and should take no more than 15 minutes of your time. We would be very grateful if you would contribute to our research and complete these questions in full.

All information that you give us will be fully confidential and will be anonymous. You are requested to create a personal code before answering any questions. If you decide to withdraw your information from our study, you can do so by e-mailing or phoning us with your personal code.

Do not hesitate to contact either of the researchers below should you have any queries.

We thank you in advance.
